is for living

YY at Perak text me...
'Hey, i'll be back on 8th, let's go shopping together, i've a lot of things to buy and i miss shopping at KL.'
'oiks! ain't you should miss me than shopping?!!'

What kind of sister is this? I know i am a good shopping kaki for her but is shopping that impoartant? (well, i know shopping are girls' favorite) or these shopping center in KL are more attractive than those in other states of Malaysia?

KL is the center of everything huh? A convenient city where have most of the things/services you request, more choices for you to make, center of information, etc. Well, of course this city need more improvement in various aspects. But i bet most people who live in KL all these years would miss the town once he/she leave. And me too, a typical KL citizen who love the life in KL :p

**************
It's YY again...
'I saw Fossil's shop in Jusco here, OMG' (she's shopping at Perak now)
'=.=''' ' (uh hmm, Fossil can't have a branch at Perak ah? Oh sister, you are sooo cute.)

I notice friends love to play a joke on me these days...
He/She would say something where i'll usually shout: 'wow! is that true?' or 'really?! (where i believe in 99% of the statement)'

Then...
'nope, i'm lying.'
'oh yc, you believe in it?'
'like this you also believe ah?'
'yc, don't believe in people easily'
.....
....
...
..
.
Oh wait, do you think i take everyone at their word? Of course i don't. Let me tell you what, you are a friend and i trust my friends, and i've barely doubt a friend's word (of course, it does not means i can't disagree with you :p). So, it kinda make sense that i should believe in your word, am i right?

I'm not saying that it'll be no more joke on me, these jokes are still welcomed, i just wonder why it'd become a phenomenon(?)...

Hmm... what's Dr.Gregory House's favorite quote again?
"Everybody lies"

LOL

*leaving Matlab for a moment*

As i mentioned in my previous entry, i am taking Physic Computer now, a Matlab-based subject. Since i'm not following the subject from very beginning of the class, i guess i'm facing some problem now- can't catch up previous lessons and guess what? 1st test will be on next Friday (=.='') Ain't first test will only hold on 5th week? It's 3rd week now.. (according to UPM calendar, first tests are on 5th week). Wondering will i have enough time for studying. By the way, i haven't get the assignment done yet, it looked easier than Java (at the moment) but whenever i try to type something on the program, nothing come out from my mind, not even a variable or figure (or whatever) So, i guess my brain cells are dying or decaying... *laughing*...

Whatever it is, I will conquer Matlab. So, Matlab, Watch Out!

*Finish, back to Matlab*

Nearly get kicked out from Physic Computer class, Prof.Z gave me an unacceptable reason for stopping me attend his class (nothing personal, it's solely some disagreement on my pendaftaran for the subject).

Since i insist taking phy comp., i talked to both Head Dept. of Physics and his secretary (JH advised me to do so although i wasn't sure why should i talk to a secretary about this issue) for getting me into the class. Of course, i have my own reason why i should not be kicked out, i even try to get some statistical evidence to prove Prof.Z was wrong about his claims. Head Dept. of Physics said he'll talk to Prof.Z. So, i wait.

I heard a lot of comments about what i've done (that i did not discuss with Prof.Z again the next day after the issue and i went directly to the Head and his secretary) between times, they claim i might piss Prof.Z off because i did not save his face. They said something that he'll hold a grudge against me in the future (okay, it sounds a bit scary for me at that moment) but i wasn't really mind since i thought i should fight for my right, regardless the risk and consequences. (i guess i was too angry)

So, at the end of day, i am accepted to the class. The secretary called Prof.Z, said as long as i've register, i should not be kicked out (and i realized how powerful is the secretary now)

I felt bad about my attitude and my thoughts. I thought i will drop the subject even though i'm accepted (to show that i just wanna fight for my right). But i'm still taking the class now, JH said it's silly if i drop and i suppose he is right. And for now, i need to work my ass off to get a great result (good is not enough. lol)

p/s: It's okay if you don't understand what am i talking about. It's too complicated to explain it in words and i barely tell others what happened though. Simply wanna write it down here.

*At last, i have some time and connection to post this entry*

So, here come my second and third day spent on the island...
**************

I woke up at 7.30am and had a walk at the seaside before we took our breakfast at 8am, unfortunately i can't see dawn due to the geography of Salang beach.

Prepared for snorkeling after breakfast, which was scheduled at 10am. We rent 6 sets of masks, fins and life jackets for RM12 and wait for boat in front the reception. The first place of snorkelling was Genting Bay, everyone leave the boat the minute we reached there except mun ping and I, two girls who still figure out which will be the safe way of getting into the sea (jumping are so not us)... actually, i did not go for any snorkelling before, not even at Redang (i got panic when i was at Redang) So, i screamed and grabbed mun ping very hard the minute i got into water (i think she got panic because of me... hehe). The wave was strong and i hit the boat (ya, very good, my elbow still hurt). And then, don't know how, mun ping and i able to stay away from the boat and joined the rest. I grabbed whoever can help me stayed steady and at last, wei keat taught me snorkel and i stopped screaming eventually. Saw colorful corals and fishes in the sea, just like those we used to watch in National Geography. Anyway, lee fu claim that Redang's looked much colorful than Tioman's.

Left Genting Bay after ~40minutes of snorkeling and head to Coral Island beach- a place for swimming instead of snorkeling. So, mun ping and i stayed in the boat this time and had our lunch at the same time. Looh tchuin learned how to make an Ali Baba hair while dry his body for reapply sunblock. And we moved to our 3rd snorkeling place around 2pm. Malang Rock is deeper (40ft? i forgot) and the water is cold too. Mun ping went back to the boat after not long of snorkeling and i managed to snorkel all by myself this time *proud*. hehe (and i think i am addicted to snorkeling now. lol)

We went back to chalet after snorkeling. Took shower and had some chat and card games (again) before our dinner served. It was a BBQ dinner- fishes, sotong, chicken wing and fried rice (their fried rice is delicious). The funny thing was most of us don't eat fish, so it ended up that only wei keat and lee fu eating the fish (looh tchuin ate some, the rest of us didn't even touch it).

Went for some drink later on, 6 of us squeezed around a small round table. Wei pien was the very first one who get drunk. Evidence: he asked where's Alan when we back to our rooms (NB alan was not with us to Tioman) Looh tchuin drunk too. Lee fu and mun ping drank a lot of water- reduce the chances of having red and itchy skin the next day. Wei keat and i were planning for second round.

Woke up at 7.30am the next day and packed our belongings after breakfast. Took a photo of 6 of us in the guys' room (well, i don't understand why should we took the photo indoor instead of outdoor), returned kettles and keys, collect our packed lunch and we walked to the jetty. Took some photos at the jetty and the guys were busy testing their cameras. Board ferry around 10.30am (late, again) and it was another 2 hours boring journey back to Mersing, everyone slept in the ferry.

While waiting for bus at 1.30pm, we'd lunch at Mersing's jetty. Wei keat interviewed everyone about the trip and we challenged lee fu using the ladies' room (because mun ping went to the gents earlier. haha) He went eventually and had a lot of comments on the ladies.

Took our bus at Mersing bus station which located not far from Mersing jetty. The driver drove really slow (excuse me, it's highway!) and it took us around 6 hours back to KL.

**************

There's no cell phone connection at Salang village, i was about to turn off my phone. And guess what, i forgot to buy souvenir, my sisters just can't stop mumble but WHO CARES!

*After i realize i have so many rubbish to talk about, i decide to divide this post to few entries.*

Since the uncle claim wanna take legal action against me (sue me la) so i really think i should write something about Tioman Island myself.
Assuming you knew our itinerary at Tioman, i'll share my thought and feelings in these entries (as ailing said).
***************
The bus journey to Mersing on 30th June was awful, Mr.driver kept the radio turned on all the way from Puduraya to Mersing. The seat was uncomfortable as well. We had barely enough of sleep in the bus. Anyway, we reached Mersing safely at 4.30am (thanks God?)

Ferry to Tioman Island was scheduled at 7.30am, had to wait few hours before we board. So, we killed time play card (except mun ping, she don't know how to play this one). Of course, we were not gambling, otherwise, i lost my money before i reach Tioman. lol.

It took us 2 hours (ferry) before we reached Salang village- the village we stayed at Pulau Tioman- it located at northernmost point of the island. It was a raining morning, we walked to Salang Indah Resort's reception, paid the bill and collect our keys and kettles (collected some towels later on) before we walked to our chalets.

After settled down ourselves, we'd lunch at a restaurant. Played Scrabble (borrow from the restaurant) after our lunches served. Was the very first time i played such game, the rules and scores draw my attention to the game and i think i'm addicted to it now. lol

Anyway, i think we had had some nap after the lunch (okay, i forgot where and what were we doing after the lunch) and then decided go for jungle trekking around 3pm. So, five of us (wei pien enjoyed his time at room) went and ask the receptionist how's the jungle trekking things would be...

'ada jungle trekking di sini?'
'ada'
'perlu bayar berapa untuk setiap orang?'
'tak perlu bayar, jalan sendiri'
'har? kalau sesat macam mana?'
'tak akan sesat, ikut kabel elektrik itu saja'
'oooo...'

I thought i read something about GUIDE when i surf the net before we went to Tioman (never mind) and i can't believe none of us asked how long the journey will take us (which made me keep on mumble later on)

Anyway, we walked to the end of the seaside from our chalet and climb some steps to the edge of the jungle. The path was slippy, mun ping and looh tchuin quit before we walked further. So left lee fu, wei keat and i continued our journey to Monkey bay (route: Salang beach to Monkey bay)

After don't-know-how-long, we saw 2 girls (finally, there's somebody in the jungle) walked from the opposite way and told us that it'd took them 45 minutes walked from Monkey bay. And they saw a snake somewhere! (python? i forgot) Looked at what we'd brought with us: 2 umbrella, 2 cameras and a 500ml mineral water. THAT's ALL! Can't believe i go jungle trekking like i'm going for shopping...zzz. Since we were about half-way of our journey, we decided to move on... tears almost came out from my eyes when i heard there's snake. Nothing i can do except watched my steps (felt regret already for being so brave and adventurous)

After another don't-know-how-long, i was exhausted, the guys seem okay. I'd already ignored the snake thing (who cares!) and the only thing in my mind was 'get me out of this jungle!'. Kept on walking and walking, we saw some giant rocks, amazed me! Unfortunately we didn't take any picture of it, too busy to catch the journey.

Finally, we reached Monkey bay after ~1hour 30minutes. You can't tell how excited I was! There was nobody run any resort business (or any other business) at the bay but there are some pondok built solely for stay-a-night purpose for those who trek at the island. The seaside is okay, better than salang village's. We stayed about 30minutes at the bay and had to rush back to Salang beach before sunset.

Since it's a bay and nobody live there, don't expect there's any boat or ferry (or whatever transport) took us back, which simply means we'd to walk back, go thro' all the path again! My tears almost came out for the second time and i kept on mumble for not to walk back. Luckily lee fu found a stick which made my journey back to Salang became easier and the very first thing we did when we reached back Salang was look for 100Plus. I did not faint throughout the journey although i looked dying (just in case that someone tells you any other version of the jungle trekking than this one. lol) Anyway, it was an amazing journey and i 'll still can't believe i made it!

**************
while waiting for us back from jungle trekking, mun ping and looh tchuin spent time at the seaside and went for swimming in late evening. Took our dinner at 7pm, the restaurant is facing seaside, so we able to see sunset while having dinner (but it was a cloudy evening). That's a lot of cats at the island, everywhere, not to mention the restaurant too and they love to 'disturb' us while we'd our meals. Mun ping learned to sit with her leg cross on her seat for 'avoiding' those cats. Cats loves wei keat the most and lee fu the least.

After dinner was another round for card game and UNO. The guys were really 'good' in teaching mun ping and i played UNO and caught us for forgot saying 'UNO'. Devil...

That's all for our first day spent at Tioman Island :)

Went to Tioman Island on 1st July, sorry for late entry, been busy preparing things for new semester...
Anyway, too lazy busy to blog this...so, i just copy and paste (+ edit) from wei keat's blog :p
********
30 June 2008, 11.30pm
Depart from Pudu by Transnational Bus to Mersing...

1 July 2008, around 4am
Arrive at Mersing Jetty
Waiting for ferry which so-call to depart at 7.30am... so while waiting, those Gamblers start to itch their hands...
There some who is sleeping though... actually only 1 (mun ping)... anyway, we then have our breakfast nearby and I bet Mr. Looh Tchuin is still angry about the issue that he was cheated by the shop owner 50 cent...

around 8am, we take the ferry & reach Tioman Island around 10.30am... we port at Salang Jetty and head towards our "hotel" (Salang Indah Resort) to check-in...

The Salang Jetty...

well... our "Hotel"...

After Check -in and rest, we have our lunch nearby... and after lunch, guess what? Yupe... another rest of course... then some adventurous people suggest to have a jungle tracking... so we depart with 5 people (lee fu, wei keat, mun ping, looh tchuin and me) heading towards the starting point... after some staircase, comes the jungle track. And believe it or not, just after awhile... maybe less than 5 minutes? 2 out of 5 people (mun ping and looh tchuin) gave up and return... well, the 3 left over "still-adventurous" people continue their long long journey into the deep jungle... (regret yet i enjoy)

Victory...

well, there's another aunty (me) following us actually, stress out and tired, sweating totally... luckily she made it back with no major troubles....

This is what you'll see at the end of our tracking journey...

Dinner at night... seafood dinner (that were a lot of cats at the restaurant...zzz), and after that some rest and gambling continue in our room.

2 July 2008, 10.30am
After breakfast, we depart from our "Hotel" by boat, heading to Genting Bay for 1st snorkeling
Then Coral Island beach for some rest and lunch

And finally Malang Rock (deep!) for the last snorkeling.

After some rest, we have our dinner at night... seafood BBQ dinner (fishs, sotong, chicken wing and fried rice)... after that we went to drink liquor (wei pien and looh tchuin drunk! and i was sober, more like i'd coffee instead of alcohol. lol) and went back to our room...

3 July 2008
Well, nothing much actually for the next day. Wake up, breakfast, check-out... then we take a ferry back to Mersing and Transnational bus back to KL (lee fu, looh tchuin and i kept playing card on our way back to KL. Blame the driver, he drove too slow~)... reach around 7pm at Pudu and take KTM back to our respective home...

-END-

p/s: Thanks wei keat.

Back to UPM again on Sunday afternoon. Shop and pack my belongings a day before, messy day. And i realised mom and dad had spent a lot on me and my sisters for university stuff...

After my leaving, there will be only my parents at home on weekday since YY is at Perak and ywen at UPM (too) now. I always wonder how's life would be for my folks when we left...

The dinner I had on Friday night with friends was good, i just can't believe our holidays end... Maybe i need a slap on my face. *slap* *slap*...

Classes are officially started today. Hope everything will be good. Will look for my superviser later, discuss about my final year project (seriously, why should i do this on my first day?)...

Anyway, it's another new semester... stay cool!
